“…The structure of populations is caused by different insect sources and migration pathways, which is also a conclusion reached by other studies. In view of the first studies on the WBPH in China(Qin & Ye, 2003) and the migration results of this study, it can be speculated that the region constituted by Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangdong and Guangxi is the first landing region of the WBPH in its migration process from the Indo-China Peninsula or Southeast Asia to China under the effects of the southwest monsoon; with the monsoon becoming stronger, the migration area becomes larger, WBPH lands in Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangdong and Guangxi at the beginning, and then it spreads to northeast and northwest China through East and central China(Diao et al, 2012).The long-distance migration of insects is guided by the wind load of the seasonal upper airflow and is related to the seasonal change in wind pattern. East Asian monsoon currents in temperate regions provide favourable carriers for long-distance insect migration (Drake…”
