Analysis of Well Performance Based on Bottom Hole Pressure Calculations for Gas Lift Application

Nader Mohamed,

et al.

Abstract: This paper focuses on optimizing gas lift techniques in four wells located in the North Sea to overcome the common issue of low reservoir pressure. Gas lift is a common artificial lift technique used in wells with low reservoir pressure where the natural pressure of the reservoir is insufficient to bring the oil to the surface. The success of gas lift optimization depends on identifying the deepest injection point, gas injection rate, and pressure of the gas injected. The paper proposes the deepest injection p… Show more

“…One of the most used techniques to analyze liquid loading and well performance is system nodal analysis. The whole well system is divided into two subsystems by nodal analysis at a particular location called the nodal point, and the pressure will be determined at each nodal point . In the oil and gas sector, PIPESIM software from Schlumberger is frequently utilized for nodal analysis. , It is a multiphase, steady-state flow simulator that is frequently used for gas and oil system design and diagnostics. In particular, PIPESIM is used to simulate multiphase flow from the reservoir to the wellhead, which helps to optimize injection and production processes.…”
