Analysis of via‐fed cylindrical dielectric resonator antennas

Abstract: In this letter, a study of a feeding technique applicable to cylindrical dielectric resonator antennas is presented. The feeding technique analyzed is based on vias glued at the lateral wall of the cylindrical resonator. A series of parametric studies, in terms of the orientation, position and dimensions of the vias, has been carried out to assess the sensitivity to imperfections of the fabrication process on the antenna parameters. In order to validate the computational results, a prototype has been manufactu… Show more

“…Similarly, some other geometries of DRA and feeding networks are explored such as single feed square DRA excited by truncated rectangular patch, 18 rectangular DRA integrated with triangular ring shaped aperture and parasitic strip 19 and modified shaped DRA, 20 Fibonacci circular polarized CDRA with enhanced gain of 7.6 dBi, 21 two ring DRA excited by four probes and two arched shaped feed, 22 rectangular DRA added with two metal walls on both sides, 23 CDRA loaded with circular metal disk at the top. 24 Recently in the Reference [25], a circular polarized broadband DRA with a cross slot etched on the ground plane and four L-shaped dielectrics resonator strips excited by stepped microstrip feeding line has been investigated for enhancing the impedance bandwidth and axial ratio. In the Reference [26], the recent advances in DRA technology is briefly summarized on the basis of impedance bandwidth, gain, axial ratio bandwidth, and novel excitation method.…”
