Analysis of Tryptophan and Its Metabolites by Reverse‐phase High‐pressure Liquid Chromatography

Abstract: SUMMARYRapid separation and determination of tryptophan, N^-formylkynurenine, kynurenine, 3-hydroxykynurenine, 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid, nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, trigonelline, kynurenic acid and xanthurenic acid from pea seedling using reverse-phase high-pressure liquid chromatography is described. Accuracy of the determinations was better than 5 % and less than 50 pmol of each metabolite could be measured reliably.
