Analysis of the Transient Contact Resistance of Composite Copper-Graphite Material Obtained Using Plasma Spraying Technology

Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of the internal structure and properties of a copper-graphite coating applied to a copper electrode. The article provides a calculation of the transient contact resistance of electrodes with a coating obtained using plasma spraying technology. Copper-graphite powder with high arc resistance was used as a spraying substance. Coated electrodes were tested for erosion resistance by an arc at currents of several kiloamperes. The aim of the work is to determine the effect of t… Show more

“…Copper-based graphite composites have excellent mechanical properties, antioxidation, anticorrosion, antifriction and antiwear properties, which favor them various applications in sliding bearing, shaft sleeve, electric contact, high speed rail pantograph and a large number of friction pair parts. [1][2][3][4][5][6] For the copper-based graphite composites, it is very important to investigate their self-lubricating properties. In the past decades, most studies have been focused on the effects of graphite content, graphite size and graphite coating on the self-lubricating performance of the copper-based graphite composites.…”
