The main objective of this study is to present a bench marking of the public street lighting in typical road in Morocco. The study deals with a comparison between the conventional technology used in Moroccan road and the LED technology. The simulated system is based on road with two directions and a sidewalk, three arrangements type of pole layout are treated (Left, Middle and Two sides arrangement). Also, in this paper deals with a parametric analysis based on the variation of boom angle, light Center high and the pole distance in order to determine the luminance of each arrangement at each pole distance. The simulation is carried out using two luminaries, the fi rst one represents a conventional technology and LED lamp. The founding of this paper shows that the LED lamp present a high luminance value of 20 cd/m² for a pole distance of 10m and boom angle of 0°, in comparison with the conventional lamp that present a luminance of 8 cd/m² at the same condition. The left arrangement type shows the best energy effi ciency indicators such as DE and power per km, this means that this disposition is less consuming of energy and acceptable luminance values. Therefore, these two indicators play a crucial role in enhancing the effi ciency of the lighting.

In the present modern society, where electricity is necessary for the lightening of homes and public buildings, the major problem in our localities is power wastes. To some extent electrical appliances such as lighting systems were left ON even in the absence of people in both private and public places. This is because traditional manual switching system is still employed in almost every building where one has to switch the room lights ON or OFF. Thus, a large amount of energy is being wasted if lights are left ON in the absence of people in those places. This work presents an intelligent energy saving system that can automatically power ON/OFF our lightening systems. The heart of this project is Passive Infrared (PIR) motion detector that can detects the radiated heat of a person and converts it to electrical signals, which is sent to switching circuit for processing. A low-cost fully automated energy saving system was designed and tested in physics laboratory of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina, Nigeria. The system was able to detect movement of objects/humans within range of 6 meters in the lab to switch ON the light and also switch it OFF in their absence. Therefore, the designed system if explored will have the potentials of reducing energy waste and at the same time reducing one’s energy bills.

This paper explores the role of AI in library services, focusing on its applications and impact. The present article begins by discussing the integration of AI technologies such as natural language processing, machine learning, and knowledge graphs in library systems. It then examines the benefits of AI, including improved information retrieval, recommendation systems, virtual assistants, and data analytics. Ethical considerations related to AI in libraries are also addressed. The paper highlights the challenges and future directions for AI implementation, including the need for training of librarians and the importance of user acceptance. The paper contributes to a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with leveraging AI in library services, ultimately paving the way for more effective and user-centric library experiences.
