Abstract: The energy transfer process for acoustic propagation and scattering in inhomogeneous, lossy media is rigorously investigated. Two problems are considered: an arbitrarily composed cluster of lossy scatterers, excited by a single point source and a layered, lossy medium excited by an internal point-source distribution.
