(L.) infantum, in which the level of IL-4 in the spleen was higher than that from non-infected dogs (Strauss-Ayali et al, 2007). Additionally, levels of IL-4 in dogs naturally infected with L. (L.) chagasi were shown to be higher than those of non-infected dogs (Lage et al, 2007).
