Analysis of spinning process parameters on development of spun‐dyed PET yarn using the Taguchi method

Abstract: ABSTRACT:The yarn tenacity of a spun-dyed yarn is predicted from the spinning conditions and other properties of the yarn are analyzed through the defined parameters using the Taguchi method. To develop a spun-dyed yarn using the Taguchi method, four factors that can largely influence the yarn properties are selected. From the experimental design based on four factors, the processes are executed to produce the specific yarns whose properties are measured to analyze the relationship between the process conditio… Show more

“…The mathematical optimization algorithm is used to establish the mathematical relationship between the design variables and the optimization targets. The Taguchi method can effectively optimize multiparameter or multitarget machining systems and has the characteristics of simple realization, fast convergence, and global optimization [22][23][24]. However, in terms of multiobjective optimization issues, because the goals in the global analysis of the process of the weight are different, it is necessary to improve the traditional Taguchi method.…”

“…Detailed information about the Taguchi method can be found in many articles. 20–22 Cho and Jeong 23 used Taguchi approach to predict the tensile properties of spun-dyed yarn at certain parameters. Cheng and Li 24 applied L16 Taguchi design to study the yarn hairiness under various spinning factors in the Jet Ring spinning system and predicted the optimum spinning variables for different fibers.…”
