Analysis of size distributions of type II ZnTe/ZnSe quantum dots

Abstract: The photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of the ZnTe/ZnSe quantum dot (QD) structure which has a type II band alignment was investigated. A broader structure peaking at 2.180 eV together with the features of the ZnSe buffer layer located at 2.820 eV in the PL spectrum at 10 K were observed. The broadness of the PL attributes to the spatial inhomogeneity of the QD sizes. The PL spectrum was a normal distribution with a variance of 0.002 eV 2 . However, the dot size distribution was a deformed Gaussian. Using only on… Show more

“…The effective band gap is heavily governed by the band offset between the valence level of ZnTe and the conduction level of ZnSe. ZnTe QDs on ZnSe buffer layers grown via the Stranski−Krastanov vapor deposition method have been reported to show Type-II characteristics, such as the emissions at extended wavelengths. , …”

“…Generally, plant fibers have complex original structures and are of various directions. , In order to obtain NC, the original fibers should be first disassembled in water. , In this work, wood flour was selected as the starting material, in which lignin and hemicellulose were removed by the Wise method . A NC paper with thickness less than 20 μm was then prepared by a simple suction filtration approach, whose morphology was investigated by microscopy analyses.…”
