“…In this study, the levels of inflammatory factors such as IL-2 and IFN-c in the severe group were higher than those in the control group and nonsevere group, which may be related to the feedback regulation of inflammatory factors. IL-6 and IL-10 are a class of cellular inflammatory factors secreted by 2 cells, macrophages, vascular endothelial cells, etc., which can inhibit the activation of 1 cells and feedback regulate the release of various cytokines including IL-2 and IFN-c [14]. IL-4 belongs to a class of typical chemokines that can mediate T cell activation and has certain antiviral effects [15].…”

“…We consider recombinant HAdVs as part of the evolutionary process of HAdV-C, therefore we believe that continuous genomic surveillance with viral typing is that typing is not usually performed for the majority of diagnosed cases of HAdV respiratory infection. Only large outbreaks or cases of unusual severity have prompted detailed molecular, etiologic, or epidemiologic investigations [ 90 , 257 ]. We believe that, as it was implemented for Influenza, later in SARS-CoV-2, genomic surveillance should be integrated into the various respiratory viruses with pandemic potential, in the case of HAdV, typing should be included, recognition of modifications in their antigenic proteins, infectious power (viral tropism) and severity of symptoms.…”

“…Globally, HAdV-C1, -C2, -B3, -E4, -C5, -C6, -B7, -B14, and -B55 were the main types or genotypes in causing outbreaks [ 11 ]. In Asia, HAdV-B3 and -B7 were the predominant types associated with acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in children [ 11 ], especially among increased HAdV infections in southern China and Beijing during 2018–2019 [ 12 , 13 ]. In America, HAdV-C2 was reported as most frequently detected type in HAdV surveillances [ 14 ].…”
