Analysis of radio wave propagation in Lagos environs

Abstract: Various research studies have been carried out by different researchers on the behaviour of radio wave within different environment under different environmental and geographical conditions. The models derived are specific for the respective environment. To validate the model, field measurements were carried out at different locations within Epe town and its environs. The measurements system consist of live radio base stations transmitting at 900MHz and 1800MHz. Downlink signal strength level data were collect… Show more

“…The attenuation of signal is mainly due to path loss which is the average loss at a given distance. Hence, path loss is one of the RF link budget prediction model elements of primary investigation, and radio propagation models typically focus on realization of the path loss with the auxiliary task of predicting the area of coverage for a transmitter or modeling the distribution of radio signals over different regions [4,5].…”

“…TEMS 10.0.5 has been used for drive test measurement for the region of DIT University, Dehradun. Main objective of drive testing is to provide real time data based on test site of coefficient, which minimizes the prediction error [3]. Measurement process started with a Hata's propagation models by default.…”
