Analysis of Quinic Acid and of myo-Inositol in Tobacco

Abstract: SUMMARYQuinic acid [D(-)-quinic acid, (1S, 3R,4S,5R)-1,3,4,5-tetrahydroxycyclohexanecarboxylic acid], and inositol [myoinositol, (1R,2R,3S,4S,5R,6S-cyclohexane-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexol or cis-1,2,3,5-trans-4,6-cyclohexane-hexol] are oxygenated compounds well known as tobacco constituents.
