Analysis of Properties of Selected Aluminium Alloys, Obtained by Twin Roll Casting Method and Subjected to Cold Rolling Process

Abstract: Modern manufacturing technologies of flat cold-rolled products made of aluminium and its alloys are based on raw materials produced with the use of continuous casting technology. One of the most frequently used integrated production processes, based on continuous casting of metal, is twin roll casting method (TRC). In TRC method liquid metal flows into the area formed by two water-cooled rolls, solidifies and next is deformed (rolled) which allows to obtain strip with several millimetres thickness. “…This method involves rolling samples at maximum degree of deformation. On the basis of geometric parameters of samples after deformation measurements, the value of the roll bite angle (a ch = 15.58°) friction factor (µ = 0.28) and forward slips were calculated from formulae (1)÷ (7). The deformation ratios of material in paper were defined as relative strain ε and logarithmic strain ε: on the high ε wh , ε h ; on the width ε wb , ε b and on the length ε wl , ε l , respectively.…”
