Analysis of Performance of TOAD Under the Conditions of Timing Jitter and ASE Noise

Abstract

We present a new treatment to calculate the BER of terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer (TOAD) by conbining the model of SOA and receiver. Results show that power penalty for jitter is small but that for ASE is comparatively large.Then the signal pulse comes out from port B. By change the offset Δχ from the midpoint of the loop, the different switching window is obtained.The detail of the theoretical model of TOAD by taking into account intraband effects and Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) are printed in reference [3,5], the summary lines are described as following.
