Abstract:140 Background: A “Palliative Medicine Day Care Unit” (PMDCU) program began in January of 2014 as part of the services provided by the Department of Palliative Medicine in a national hospital in Costa Rica; the program allows patients with hemato-oncological diseases to continue as outpatients while receiving inpatient treatment for their refractory symptoms.
