Analysis of Metal Corrosion under Conditions of Mechanical Impacts and Aggressive Environments

Abstract: Based on standpoints of the surface physics, fracture mechanics and electrochemistry, a mathematical model of the physical and chemical processes near the crack tip of a metal under mechanical loads in aqueous electrolyte solutions is developed. Calculations of the energy and electrochemical characteristics are performed for the steel 20 in the 3% solution of sodium chloride.
