Analysis of Mathematical Communication Capabilities in Completing Problems in Matrix Materials Based on Solo Taxonomy

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical communication skills based on SOLO Taxonomy in students of class XI of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Muhammadiyah 3 Batu in solving problems on matrix material. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, where the subject is 17 students of class XI MIPA. The method of collecting research data uses test instruments. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded thatas many as 4 students with very good mathematical communication ski… Show more

“…Students' ability to communicate their thoughts, ideas and mathematical ideas vocally and in writing is one of the fundamentals of their comprehension process in digesting all of the mathematical material presented (Pratiwi et al, 2020;Solihah et al, 2018). However, some children have trouble speaking to express and communicate answers connected to problem-solving, and the outcomes are less than ideal (Setyowati et al, 2020;Susanti et al, 2020). As a result, students' mathematical communication skills must be addressed in greater depth.…”

“…Apart from that, students need help to think mathematically. This happens because the thought process is less developed (Leavy, 2020;Setyowati et al, 2020;Usmiyatun et al, 2021). This problem can be overcome by continuously training students' thinking processes by solving mathematical problems.…”
