Analysis of Leakage Cause of L415M Spiral Submerged Arc Welding Pipe

Abstract: The causes of longitudinal crack in gas pipeline during pressure were analyzed by means of mechanical property test, microstructure analysis, sem analysis and energy spectrum analysis. The results show that the leakage of L415M spiral submerged arc welded pipe is caused by the contact between the base material of steel pipe and low-melting copper alloy in the process of high temperature, resulting in the brittleness of liquid metal. Specifically, when the leakage site of the steel pipe is heated at an abnormal… Show more

“…It can buffer the tension, compression stress, and torque action attached to the straight section, such as formation migration, earthquake, and external temperature change in the area where the pipeline is located [1][2][3][4]. Because of its unique structure and complicated force state in use, the bend pipe is one of the weakest links in the oil and gas transmission pipeline system [5][6][7][8][9][10].…”

“…Almost all long-distance oil and gas pipelines and station facilities pipelines are completed by the welding process. Welding quality directly affects the safety of pipelines and station facilities along the line [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] . According to statistics, most of the pipeline failure cases are caused by girth weld defects, and the more complex the butt structure, the greater the probability of failure.…”

“…The defects arise from the production of pipes, and the characteristics of the defects are different at different stages of manufacture. Therefore, it is of great significance to analyze the characteristics of defects, find out the causes of defects and take necessary quality assurance measures to improve the quality of pipes and ensure the safety of pipeline operation [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. Ф325 mm × 10 mm 20 steel seamless steel pipe was produced by a factory in 2013.…”
