“…Three developed sorbents were tested for the CO 2 sorption capacity to screen the chemical reactivity for matrices of prepared sorbent, 2 cycle carbonation and regeneration test was carried out at 70°C and 140°C based on the results of P1, respectively (Kim et al, 2012). Figure 4 shows the sorption capacities of these sorbents.…”

“…In 2010, the 2,000 Nm 3 /h (0.5 MW e ) capture process was installed to slip stream of the flue gas of coal-fired power plant of Korea Southern Power Co., Ltd. (KOSPO) located in Hadong, Korea and is being evaluated for various operation conditions and sorbents. The results of CO 2 removal attained approximately 80% for 50 h (Kim et al, 2012). This paper presents the properties, CO 2 sorption capacity, rate, and regenerability, as well as the important physical properties, of K 2 CO 3 -MgO based solid sorbents selected as a candidate for the 2,000 Nm 3 /h (0.5 MW) and the 10 MW e capture process developed to improve the performances such as mechanical strength expressed in the attrition index and chemical reactivity of K 2 CO 3 -Al 2 O 3 based sorbent named KEP-CO2P (P1, hereafter), and addressed the results of various analysis, i.e.…”

“…The effects of SO 2 on the carbonation process of K 2 CO 3 calcined from KHCO 3 and K 2 CO 3 /Al 2 O 3 were studied in a TGA (Wu, Chen, & Zhao, 2011) and a fixed-bed reactor (Kim et al, 2012). It was found that compared with the reaction process of K 2 CO 3 /Al 2 O 3 without H 2 O pretreatment, its reaction rate increased after H 2 O pretreatment and the amount of the formation of K 2 SO 3 is about a half of that without H 2 O pretreatment.…”

“…However, to the best knowledge of these authors, only a couple of studies have been conducted to evaluate the effects of SO 2 on potassium-based CO 2 capture [12][13][14]. These studies were focused on confirming the fact that R2 and R3 exist and SO 2 was really competitive than CO 2 in consuming K 2 CO 3 .…”
