Abstract:The flow in a 1.5-stage axial turbine is investigated by large-eddy simulations. The focus is on the ingress into the downstream wheel space. Two setups are considered. In the first, the full 360° annulus is included on a computational mesh with approx. 1 billion mesh cells. The second setup includes a single blade passage in a 22.5° segment. The computational mesh has approx. 75 million mesh cells accordingly. The flow fields in the downstream wheel space differ strongly. In the 22.5° setup, the disk pumping … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
