Abstract:Frequency estimation for complex sinusoid is a fundamental problem in signal processing. A simple and effective way is to directly interpolate the discrete Fourier transform coefficients around the peak of the magnitude spectrum. The shortcoming of this method is the non-uniform estimation bias across the frequency. This paper theoretically analyzes the estimation bias for some of the most popular and wellperformed estimators and shows that the bias can be accurately predicted by a polynomial. Applying the pol… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
