Analysis of equipment life cycle at oil refinery

Abstract: The results of the analysis of the service life of equipment operating under excess pressure at the Belarusian oil refinery are presented, directions for improving industrial safety when working with this type of equipment are proposed in this study. It was established that fittings with conditional passage up to DN100, the base metal and metal of the welds of the equipment body are the most wearing parts during the service life. Frequent replacement of fittings with a small conditional passage is connected wi… Show more

“…RCP 4.5 is an intermediate pathway for stabilization of radiative forcing by 2100 at approximately 4.5 W/m 2 [41], while RCP 8.5 is the high-emissions scenario that is frequently referred to as "business as usual" and represents an average expected future and a worst-case scenario [42]. The period up to 2050 corresponds to the remaining lifetime of the majority of process equipment, before it has to be restored or even shutdown due to environmental legislation [43]. The new estimated likelihood approach, which takes into account climate change to calculate the initial probability of a climate risk scenario, was incorporated into the existing risk assessment methodology to increase the resilience of operations, explicitly taking into account future risks of the infrastructure [30].…”
