Abstract:Autonomous sonar target recognition has been an ongoing challenge in the underwater signal processing community for many decades. Aspect-dependent target scattering and waveguide propagation causes target features to overlap, which increases the difficulty of constructing feature dictionaries. Current machine learning algorithms can suffer from an inability to track morphing target-specific features. Other ”black-box” machine learning algorithms produce results that are not explainable. We seek to extend previ… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
