Analysis of Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of Solvent Fractions from Rhynchosia nulubilis Cultivated with Ganoderma lucidum Mycelium

Abstract: In this study, the crude ethanol Rhynchosia nulubilis cultivated with Ganoderma lucidum mycelium (RNGM) extract was solvent fractionated with organic solvents such as n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and water. The anticancer activities, anti-inflammatory activity total polyphenols, total flavonoids, isoflavones, and β-glucan of the solvent fractions of RNGM were studied. The ethyl acetate fraction showed the highest 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl scavenging activity of 76.60% at 800 μg/mL. The ethyl acetat… Show more

“…us, the highest free radical scavenging activity of the ethyl acetate fraction could be due to the presence of an increased amount of those antioxidant metabolites in higher proportions compared with the crude extract and aqueous fractions. is is similar to another finding where the ethyl acetate fraction of a different plant showed the highest radical scavenging activity [44].…”

“…The TE/L. In contrast, betel and kaduk extracted by EA (1384.40 mg TE/L) and HE (1191.48 g TE/L) solvents exhibited higher FRAP activity than did those extracted by W. Similar results were also reported in the studies of Guleria et al50 on the fractions of Terminalia chebula fruit and Park et al51 on the fractions of Rhynchosia nulubilis cultivated with Ganoderma lucidum.…”

“…The ethanol extract was then subjected to a liquid–liquid fractionation, as described by Lestari et al (2019) and Park and Kim (2017), with minor changes [ 47 , 75 ]. Dried ethanol extract (5 g) was dissolved in a mixture of ethanol (45 mL) and distilled water (5 mL) to produce the crude ethanol extract.…”
