“…The calculations of radiative transition probabilities and lifetimes reported here include the rotational dependence of the variation of the B-X electronic transition moment function with internuclear distance (no Franck-Condon or R-centroid approximation). For the calculation of wavefunctions and radiative transition probabilities between vibrational-rotational states implied in the transitions we have used precise potential energy curves (basically RKR type) for both B 1 u and X 1 + g electronic states constructed up to dissociation from data reported in our laboratory [16]. A comparison between theoretical and experimental values of radiative transition probabilities and lifetimes for the observed fluorescence series shows a good agreement between the experimental measurements and the calculated theoretical values.…”
