A hazai vállalati szféra környezeti teljesítménye jelentős átalakuláson ment át a rendszerváltást követő 30 évben. A gazdaság szerkezetének a megváltozása, a korszerű technológiai megoldások elérhetővé válása és a modern menedzsmenteszközök alkalmazásának az elterjedése lehetővé tették a vállalatok számára, hogy megfeleljenek a szigorodó jogi előírásoknak és a nemzetközi vevői elvárásoknak. Mindazonáltal a kedvező tendenciák mellett számos területen lemaradás látható a nemzetközi gyakorlathoz képest, és a hazai környezet állapotában beállt változások sem indokolják a környezeti erőfeszítések elhanyagolását. A szerzők cikkükben kísérletet tesznek a hazai vállalati szféra környezeti teljesítményének jellemzésére, melyet három szempont segítségével elemeznek: a vállalati folyamatok ökohatékonyságának, a folyamatok környezeti állapotra gyakorolt hatásának, illetve a környezeti menedzsment alkalmazott eszközeinek az áttekintésével. Kutatásuk felhívja a figyelmet az elért eredményekre, de lehetőséget nyújt arra is, hogy azonosítsák a további fejlesztést igénylő területeket, melyek segítségével tovább javítható a hazai vállalatok környezeti teljesítménye. Kulcsszavak: fenntartható fejlődés, erőforrás-hatékonyság, Magyarország környezeti állapota, vállalati környezeti menedzsment The environmental performance of the Hungarian corporate sector has developed enormously over the last 30 years since the transition to a market economy started. A shift in the structure of the economy, the increasing availability of state-of-the-art technological solutions and the spread of contemporary management techniques made it possible for Hungarian enterprises to fulfil the requirements of ever stricter legal regulations and international customer expectations. However, in spite of the favourable tendencies, Hungarian enterprises are lagging behind their European counterparts in some fields and changes in the state of the natural environment also call for more substantial action. In this article the authors make an effort to provide an overview of the environmental performance of the Hungarian corporate sector using three important aspects: the eco-efficiency of production processes, the effects of industrial processes on the state of the natural environment and the use of environmental management tools. Their conclusions draw the attention to results achieved over the last decades, but also make it possible to identify the most important fields for potential improvement so that the environmental performance of Hungarian companies can be further developed.

Development of a Holistic Assessment Framework for Industrial Organizations

The evaluation and selection among the best production practices beyond the conventional linear models is, nowadays, concerned with those holistic approaches drawn toward environmental assessment in industry. Therefore, researchers need to develop an analysis that can evaluate the performance of industrial organization in the light of their environmental viewpoint. This study implemented a pilot co-integrated scheme based on an innovative in-house Holistic Assessment Performance Index for Environment (HAPI-E) industry tool while assimilating the principles of circular economy through the Eco-innovation Development and Implementation Tool (EDIT). For the latter, nine qualitative indicators were motivated and enriched the weighting criteria of the questionnaire. The decomposition of the complexity and preferences mapping was accompanied by a multi-criteria holistic hierarchical analysis methodology in order to synthesize a single index upon a need-driven scoring. This multi-criteria decision approach in industry can quantify the material and process flows, thus enhancing the existing knowledge of manipulating internal resources. The key-criteria were based on administrative, energy, water, emissions, and waste strategies. Subsequently, the HAPI-E industry tool was modeled on the food industry, being particularly focused on pasta-based industrial production. Then, the parameters of this tool were modeled, measured, and evaluated in terms of the environmental impact awareness. The magnitude of necessary improvements was unveiled, while future research orientations were discussed. The HAPI-E industry tool can be utilized as a precautionary methodology on sustainable assessment while incorporating multifaceted and quantification advantages.
