Analysis and evaluation of friction factor correlations for the determination of pressure drop through packed adsorption columns

Abstract

The application of different pressure drop correlations for packed bed columns was evaluated in a solution algorithm for the dynamic adsorption process model. There were found differences in bed saturation time for the ethanol-water separation study case. Computational time required also shown significant differences between the correlations evaluated.
