The multi-criteria group decision-making approach, rooted in fuzzy mathematics theory, is employed to address the globally significant issue of green construction in this paper. The construction industry is one of the most prominent contributors to carbon emissions, which is evident throughout the entire supply chain. Meanwhile, the renovation of old residential communities is a large-scale urban construction project in China. In striving to advance the sustainable development of the construction industry and meet decarbonization goals, the attention has shifted towards green construction in the renovation of old residential communities. However, substantial gaps persist in both technical innovation and practical application of green construction. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the popularization and implementation of green construction practices in the renovation of old residential communities. To achieve this, a comprehensive decision-making approach is sought, and these factors are thoroughly investigated. In this paper, we propose a hybrid decision-making framework that incorporates grounded theory, the fuzzy decision-making and trial evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method, and the analytic network process (ANP) method. Leveraging triangular fuzzy numbers and other fuzzy mathematical theories, this approach is designed to assess the factors that influence the popularization and implementation of green construction practices, uncovering their interrelationships and mechanisms. The results indicate the comprehensive nature of advancing green construction practices, encompassing the entire supply chain involved in the renovation of old residential communities. Among these factors, social participation and market environment emerge as the most influential. Building upon these conclusions, this paper offers specific recommendations. Ultimately, this study equips the construction industry with both a theoretical foundation and a methodological framework to popularize and implement green construction practices effectively.

Urban researchers pay more and more attention to building energy consumption from different perspectives to obtain the results of urban overall energy conservation. The research at the micro level has yielded abundant accomplishments, but the macro-level research that can support urban planning decision making is still in the exploration stage. In this study, a multi-agent-based model, including the main panel, building agent, resident agent, and household appliance agent, is established by using Anylogic software. The model integrates Harbin urban macro-level impact factors of building energy consumption by designing and linking three sub-models: an urban morphology sub-model, climate sub-model, and energy use behavior sub-model. In the end, this study explored the building energy-saving potential of different types of land under the impact of variable factors through urban morphology and climate simulation scenarios and discussed the related energy-saving strategies. Findings and suggestions include: (1) The impact of urban morphology on overall urban building energy consumption is mainly reflected in residential and commercial land. The land development intensity (building density, floor area ratio, and building height) control and the coordination of land type layout and configuration can help to reduce the building energy consumption. (2) The energy-saving potential of residential land is more evident under climate impact, and ecological means should be used to adjust the climate to reduce the building energy consumption on different lands. (3) From the methodology perspective, this model can well realize the integration of multiple impact factors at the macro-level of the city and the dynamic simulation of energy consumption. The research results are expected to provide quantitative support for creating a sustainable built environment for the city.

Pedestrian crossings have also been highlighted as one of the most dangerous locations in the transportation field. Because people and vehicles share the road, a crosswalk improves the road’s efficiency in a densely populated region. However, as the population grows, more accidents and serious injuries occur, and as a result, nationalities are attempting to reduce these incidents through marketing and legal fines. Various architectures and developmental models have been proposed by authors focusing on the safeguarding of pedestrians crossing the intersections and vehicles passing by. Few proposed machine learning and deep learning-based solutions to the pedestrian lanes; others provided an Internet of Things- (IoT-) based solution to the situation. Various challenges are left unresolved, such as evidence recording, image capturing, and recognition in case of an emergency. In the proposed scenario, an IoT-based technology is utilized to assist the vehicles passing by to act over the signals depicted as a red light focusing on a real-time architecture. The proposed system will be mounted along the roadside at the traffic light pole. The system comprises various refined quality components, such as a gesture control module, High Definition camera module, etc. Based on the decision drawn from the gesture module, a specific signal will be displayed with the help of a traffic light to assist the vehicles passing by to safeguard the people crossing the proposed smart pedestrian crossing.
