IntroductionScientific literature contains mainly systematic reviews focused on substantial aspects, but there are also approaches that have combined both substantial and methodological aspects, which is our preferred option since it undeniably adds value. The aims of this study were: (1) to carry out a systematic review of the literatura on T-Pattern analysis (TPA), and (2) to explore the possible contribution of mixed methods research to the integration of qualitative and quantitative elements on a synthesis level.MethodsBased on PRISMA guidelines, searches were carried out in the Scopus, PsycINFO, and Web of Science databases. The general search syntax was: “THEME” AND (“T-Patterns” OR “T Patterns”) carried out in title, keywords and abstract. In addition, we included empirical articles on THEME and T-Patterns collected in other sources based on citations in several empirical works and consultations with different authors. This selection process resulted in 125 primary documents making up this systematic review.ResultsThe results showed that the detection of structures in behavior patterns forms a nexus between studies carried out in very diverse fields and contexts. Most studies are observational, whilst the applicability and power of T-Pattern detection are extraordinary. It allows the researcher to go deeper in a robust analysis that responds to the integration of qualitative and quantitative elements which constitutes the leit motive of mixed methods; and also to discover the deep, hidden structure that underlies the respective databases, regardless of the methodology used in each study. The possibilities in assigning parameters notably increase the options for obtaining results and their interpretation.DiscussionIt is relevant the extraordinary strength and applicability of T-pattern detection. There is a high presence of T-pattern detection and analysis in studies using observational methodology. It is necessary commit to consolidating the methodological analysis of selected works, as taking individual and collective responsibility for improving methodological quality of TPA studies, taking advantage of the resources provided by the THEME program.

La presente investigación tiene el objetivo de analizar las variables pedagógicas que se incluyen en las tareas de entrenamiento diseñadas por el entrenador de fútbol-base, categoría Benjamín (edad comprendida entre 9 y 10 años), respecto a la presencia o no del portero. Con tal fin, se analizaron un total de 46 tareas de entrenamiento desarrolladas durante 2 meses de la etapa formativa. Se utilizó́ la herramienta SIATE para la categorización y análisis de las siguientes variables pedagógicas de dichas tareas: Presencia de Portero (POR), Situación de Juego (SJ), Fase de Juego (FJ), Tipo de Contenido (CONT-G), Medio de Iniciación Deportiva (MIE), Nivel de Oposición (NO) y Línea de Juego (LJ). Los resultados muestran que el entrenador diseña tareas de entrenamiento de 8 x 8, mixta y competitivas con presencia de portero, y tareas de entrenamiento 1 x 0, así como ejercicio de aplicación compleja para el calentamiento sin presencia de portero. Se concluye que existen diferencias significativas entre la variable presencia de portero y el modo de actuar del entrenador.

Purpose. the present study intends to analyse the tactical schematics, outs, and corners marked in the last 12 meters of the court, through notational analysis, sequential analysis, and detection of t-patterns. Methods. We analysed outs (n = 71) and corners (n = 46) performed by the professional futsal team of Sport Lisbon and benfica. the tactical Scheme Observation System in Futsal and the Lince ® computer program were used. the data were analysed with IbM SPSS Statistics ® , SDIS-GSEQ ® , and tHEME ® programs. Results. the finalization of the tactical schemes takes place preferably after a pass, to the outer zones 5, 8, and 9. the sequential analysis showed some regularities when there is a second pass directed to zones 5 and 6, and regularity was verified in the finalization in interior zone 2. t-patterns were recorded in the execution of the observed tactical schemes. Conclusions. the finalization of the tactical schemes takes place after 1 or 2 passes occurring in external areas.
