Análise faunística de Lepidoptera Arctiidae em área de reserva natural remanescente de floresta tropical em Viçosa, Minas Gerais

Abstract

A survey and faunistic analysis of the moths Arctiidae (Insecta: Lepidoptera) was conducted in a relict forest of Zona da Mata in the Region of Viçosa, Minas Gerais State. A total of 96 weekly samples were collected from September, 1981 to August, 1983 by means of a black light trap. Representatives of 90 species, belonging to 42 genera were collected. The genera Jlalysidota and Rhipha hadthe greatest species representation. Individuais and species number fluctuations were not significative correlated with any particular climatic factor despite the fact it was observedtheirtendency to decrease in number duringdry season periods. Most genera occurred ali over the samples, except Prepielia, Prumala, and Siga collected only in the rainfali season, and Euryptidia, ffyperthaenia, and Pelochvta collected in the dry season. Twenty one species were found as a new records to Minas Gerais State.
