Abstract

The high competitiveness demands an increase of productivity of the companies. This makes the implantation of the strategic management of the maintenance critical. Thus, it is necessary to insert new techniques and approaches in the maintenance organization. The purpose of this work is to analyze the maintenance process carried out in a metallurgical industry and to verify if the strategy used is the most suitable for the specific case of the ball mill. The maintenance plans of the equipment and the data related to the time between failures of the ball mill were analyzed. The company needs to improve its structure and implement efficient maintenance strategies for its equipment.
