Análise do efeito da pressão de confinamento na resistividade elétrica de rochas

Abstract

This work investigates the effects of confinement pressure on the electrical resistivity and cementation factor of saturated carbonate and siliciclastic samples. For this analysis, an equipment that allows lateral pressure (bi-axial stresses) to be exerted on the rocks was used. The porosity and electrical resistance of the samples were measured and the values of electrical resistivity and cementation factor were calculated. Based on the results, it was possible to determine electrical resistivity behavior patterns in samples exposed to high confinement pressures, thus simulating overload conditions, similar to those imposed on reservoir rocks in situ.
