Abstract:A apendicite aguda é uma lesão inflamatória abdominal, sendo a mais comum causa de abdome agudo, acomete cerca de 150 mil pessoas no Brasil por ano, causada pela obstrução da luz do apêndice, tendo por causas, principalmente, fecalitos, hiperplasia linfóide, tumores e até mesmo parasitas, com uma posterior multiplicação bacteriana, sendo a Escherichia coli e a Bacteroides fragilis as principais bactérias relacionadas.
