Abstract:Intracavitary brachytherapy treatment has a very important role in
patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. Brachytherapy is a very
painful procedure, especially in patients in whom cervical opening
cannot be achieved, and requires analgesia and immobilization. The
American Brachytherapy Association (ABA) recommends the use of
conscious sedation as much as possible in intracavitary high-doserate
