An unusual ECG pattern in restrictive cardimyopathy

Abstract: Restrictive cardiomyopathy is the least common type of primary cardiomyopathies. Electrocardiographic recording is abnormal in 99% of patients with RCM. Biatrial enlargement, obliquely elevated ST segment with notched or biphasic late peaking T waves are considered characteristic ECG finding. Significant ST depression with T inversion mimicking subendocardial ischemia has also been reported in patients with RCM and is even suggested as a predictor of sudden cardiac death. We noted a similar ECG pattern in a 16… Show more

“…On chest radiography, the finding of pericardial calcifications and/or low QRS voltages on EKG direct the diagnosis to CP. Tissue tracking-derived left ventricular mechanics on echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) can provide further information to facilitate this distinction [ 114 ].…”

“…Na radiografia de tórax, o achado de calcificações pericárdicas e/ou baixas voltagens de QRS no ECG direcionam o diagnóstico para PC. A mecânica ventricular esquerda derivada do rastreamento tecidual na ecocardiografia e na ressonância magnética cardíaca pode fornecer informações adicionais para facilitar essa distinção 61 .…”
