An Unusual Case of Posterior Mitral Valve Prolapse

Abstract: Myxomatous degeneration of mitral valve causing mitral regurgitation is not a rare entity in clinical practice. Literature across congenital heart disease describes maximum 37 mm prolapse of anterior mitral leaflet in rarest of cases. Our case is unique in demonstrating huge prolapse of posterior mitral leaflet being more than that ever described in literature in myxomatous spectrum.
