An unusual binodal (6,8)-connected 3D supramolecular network with twofold self-penetration

Abstract: A dicarboxylate ligand, 5-carboxyl-1-carboxymethyl-2-oxidopyridinium (H 2 L), was utilized to form four complexes with the general formula [M(HL) 2 (H 2 O)]·2H 2 O, M = Cu II (1), Zn II (2), Mn II (3), Cd II (4). The crystals were isomorphous, belonging to the monoclinic C2/c space group.
