An uncommon cause of lower leg pain

Abstract: A 63-year-old woman was referred to dermatology by her primary care provider (PCP) for a skin lesion on her right leg that had been persistently painful for 7 years.History The patient described the lesion as painful and tender but said that the pain did not radiate. She reported a burning sensation at the lesion. She rated her pain a 9 out of 10 the day of her dermatology appointment.
