An ultrastable Zr-MOF for fast capture and highly luminescence detection of Cr2O72− simultaneously in an aqueous phase

Abstract: A porous Zr-MOFs (JLU-MOF50) with exceptional stabilities has been synthesized. As a dual functional material, JLU-MOF50 displays not only a high trapping capacity and an adsorption rate, but also effective detecting performance for Cr2O72− in the aqueous phase.

“…As illustrated in Figure d, the S‐V curve linearly increases below 132 μM for MDZ and then deviates from the linearity at high concentration of MDZ. The linear correlation is indicative of static quenching, and the non‐linear portion is attributed to self‐absorption and/or energy‐transfer process . Fitting the plot of I 0 / I vs. [MDZ] to S‐V equation affords K SV = 1.59 × 10 4 m –1 and correlation coefficient R 2 = 0.9907 below 132 μM.…”

“…In addition, there are other Zr-MOFs that can also be obtained using different V-shaped linkers. [188,189] Yin and co-workers reported a Zr-MOF based on a perylenediimide linker, Zr-PDI. [190] The Zr-cluster coordinated with eight P-2COOH linkers and four acetic acid ligands (P-2COOH = N,N′-di-(4-benzoic acid)-1,2,6,7-tetrachloroperylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid diimide).…”

“…[14][15][16] Worryingly,i nv iew of the weak strength of coordination bonds, ap ortion of MOF structures will disaggregate or collapse when used in practical sensing. [18,19] According to the theory of hard and soft acids and bases,t he strength of coordination effects be-tweenZ r IV ions and polycarboxylic acid is comparable to that of covalent bonds, ensuring the stabilities of Zr-MOFs under various sensing conditions. Thus, at this point, zirconium-based MOFs (Zr-MOFs)w ith high chemicala nd mechanical stability become promising candidatest os erve as luminescent sensors.…”
