Background: Long-distance coach liner bus transportation forms an important economic sector in South Africa as it contributes to the gross domestic product (GDP) and employment, and significantly impacts the daily life activities of many people. While this is commendable, there have been reports relating to inefficiency, reliability (late arrivals and departure times) and safety concerns. These concerns have the potential to negatively impact on passengers’ satisfaction.Aim: No South African investigative research study could be found on the predictors of passengers’ satisfaction with long-distance coach liners. This study was conducted to identify predictors of passengers’ satisfaction with long-distance coach liners in South Africa.Setting: The target respondents were passengers who recently travelled on a long-distance coach liner in South Africa. The potential respondent had to be at least 18 years of age.Methods: Primary data were collected using an online survey, and respondents recruited through convenience and snowball sampling. Of the 409 questionnaires received, 399 useful questionnaires were included in the data analysis.Results: The results of the study indicate that peace of mind (β = 0.552, p = 0.000) and efficiency (β = 0.455, p = 0.000) have a predictive power on passengers’ satisfaction.Conclusion: The findings suggest that when there is an improvement in peace of mind and/or efficiency, passengers’ satisfaction will also improve. It is thus recommended that operators/managers of long-distance coach liners prioritise the elements that contribute to peace of mind at all touchpoints (e.g. safety, security, privacy, professionalism of drivers) and efficiency in delivering services to passengers (e.g. reliability and punctuality).

In the supply chain of foodstuffs derived from livestock, data consistency and security are the most important thing to pay attention to. However, the length of the existing supply chain and the lack of facilities to store and maintain the correctness of livestock data are problems in ensuring the security of the data. The use of blockchain in livestock has existed in Indonesia, but its scope is only to agriculture or only a small part of the livestock supply chain. Therefore, this research was conducted to develop the application of a blockchain-based livestock supply chain system in Indonesia. This research begins with conducting a literature study, analyzing the slaughterhouses. Then the development of a blockchain system for the food supply chain was carried out. System validation was carried out through interviews with the head of the slaughterhouses, breeders, and wholesalers. The results state that the system helps in ensuring the security of food supply chain data from livestock. However, the problem that has not been resolved is the validation process of data on the weight loss of foodstuffs in the course of the supply chain process. In the future, this technique is expected to be used for halal certification.

قد يمثل تنوع وتعدد نماذج ونظريات قبول تكنولوجيا المعلومات تحديًا من حيث اختيار النموذج. ويتعلق تحد آخر بالمضي في الدراسة دون الأخذ بعين الاعتبار باعتماد نموذج أو نظرية معينة. للتصدي لهذه التحديات أجريت هذه الدراسة باستخدام منهجية نموذج علوم التصميم. وقد اتبعت الباحثة بشكل خاص طريقة تطوير التصنيف التي توفر التوجيه للباحثين المهتمين بتطوير التصنيفات. يشمل التصنيف المطوّر في هذه الدراسة خصائص وأبعاد وفئات مختلفة. ساهمت هذه الدراسة في الإضافة للمؤلفات السابقة من خلال تطوير تصنيف منهجي يمكن أن يساعد في تقييم درجة التطبيق المحتمل لنماذج قبول تكنولوجيا المعلومات المختلفة. يتكون التصنيف المطوّر في هذه الدراسة من 3 فئات، 19 بعداً تتضمن ما مجموعه 91 خاصية. التصنيف المطوّر في هذه الدراسة له قيمة محتملة لباحثي تكنولوجيا المعلومات من حيث أنه يمكن استخدامه بطرق مختلفة منها أنه يمكن استخدامه كدليل لتقييم النظريات والنماذج الأخرى غير نموذج قبول التكنولوجيا (TAM). خلصت الدراسة إلى أنه على الرغم من تنوع وتعدد نماذج قبول تكنولوجيا المعلومات، فإن تقييم التصنيف المطور للدراسة الحالية يشير إلى محدوديات النماذج الحالية من حيث أن: نماذج قبول تكنولوجيا المعلومات تركز على المستوى الفردي بدلًا من مستوى المجموعة، ولا تأخذ بعين الاعتبار دراسة تأثير عوامل الخصوصية والجنس. تدعو الدراسة الحالية إلى إجراء تحول علمي في بحوث قبول وتبني تقنية المعلومات بحيث تأخذ بعين الاعتبار تحليل قبول تكنولوجيا المعلومات على مستوى المجموعة والمستوى التنظيمي.
