An Overview of Procedures for Refining Triangulations

Abstract: Abstract. In this paper, a list of procedures for refining triangulations and other related issues is presented. The wide variety of processes in order to refine triangles in a meshed geometry is placed in perspective. Moreover, the focus of this overview is strictly on adaptive triangle partition and collapse operators using mesh refinement procedures and some associated algorithms.
