Water and light are the most important environements for plants' growth. These environemts are critical factors needed not only for the survival of plants but also their production. When plants are exposed to drought condition, they change in their anatomical, physiological and biochemical properties. Drought affects plants wildly from their cell structure to growth. It causes higher plastoglobuli, lower starch grain, distortion of thylakoids, disrupted grana and swelling of chloroplast. Plants grown under enhanced light, have increased palisade parenchyma, thicker leaf, higher biomass, increased photosynthesis, lower contents of chlorophyll, carotenoid and nitrogen.

(1-4) Dead organic matter is important in carbon (C) sequestration because it accounts for a significant proportion of forest C storage. As thinning could alter the C storage of dead organic matter, this study aimed to assess the effect of thinning on the C storage of dead organic matter including the forest floor, mineral soil at a depth of 0-30 cm, and coarse woody debris in larch and oak forests in South Korea. Differing intensities of thinning were applied to four larch and four oak stands, and the C storage of dead organic matter in thinned and control plots was compared three years after thinning. The effect sizes were estimated based on Hedges' d to measure the influence of thinning. Total C storage of dead organic matter tended to be higher in the thinned plots (larch: 82. ). However, estimation of effect size found that the cumulative effect size was not significant for the C storage of the forest floor, mineral soil, coarse woody debris, and dead organic matter. Only a few of the individual treatments exhibited significant effect sizes for mineral soil C storage in two larch stands and coarse woody debris C storage in two oak stands. The results indicated that the applied thinning treatments might have no consistently significant impact on the C storage of dead organic matter in the larch and oak stands after three years, though thinning may have had an idiosyncratic influence on the C storage of dead organic matter in a few of the study stands.

In this paper we have considered an age structure forestry biomass characterized as pre-mature and mature population stages and industrialization as a state variable. Industries prefer to harvest trees as its favorite raw material to be used, but it may depend on the alternatives in the shortage or low growth of mature trees, based on this assumption a modified Leslie-Gower interaction is considered for industrial growth. We have obtained sufficient conditions for the persistence and global attractivity of the system by applying the differential inequality theory. Theory of differential equation is used to establish the stability of the system. Pontryagin's principle is applied for the optimal control and found the solution in the interior equilibrium. For the verification of analytic results we have done numerical simulation, sensitivity of parameters involved in interior equilibrium is also examined.
