The purpose of this paper is the development of a methodology to analyze the chromaticity coordinates in RGB LEDs, considering the influence of junction temperature. A review of theoretical concepts of colorimetry was performed, as well as a demonstration of the luminous flux equation that considers the effect of thermal and electrical characteristics of LEDs. The equations which represent the heatsink and junction temperature of the LEDs are compared with finite element simulations and experimental measurements. The equation of the luminous flux is related to the matrices of the tristimulus, to achieve a precise relationship between the LED's operation condition and the desired color. Finally, tests in order to verify the data mathematically obtained in comparison with the data experimentally obtained are performed and shown.

Resumo -Este trabalho apresenta uma metodologia de projeto para um sistema de iluminação pública empregando diodos emissores de luz (LEDs) sem consumo de energia a partir da rede elétrica durante o Horário de Ponta, alimentando o circuito por baterias. Além disso, as baterias podem manter o funcionamento do sistema durante uma possível falha no fornecimento de energia pela rede elétrica, operando como um sistema de iluminação de emergência. Estas aplicações são justificadas pela redução da demanda de energia do sistema elétrico de potência e aumento da confiabilidade do sistema de iluminação pública. A aplicação de LEDs para iluminação tem apresentado vantagens devido à longa vida útil dos LEDs agregado à sua alta eficiência luminosa, alto índice de reprodução de cores e emissão de luz direcional. O sistema proposto alimenta os LEDs através da rede elétrica, e através de baterias quando necessário, utilizando um único conversor CC-CC (Buck-Boost). Este mesmo conversor também é utilizado para carregar as baterias através da rede após o Horário de Ponta. O sistema proposto apresenta alta eficiência, alto fator de potência e atende à norma IEC 61000-3-2. Palavras-Chave -Conversor Bidirecional, ConversoresAbstract -This paper presents a design methodology for a street lighting system based on light emitting diodes (LEDs) without energy consumption from the mains during the Peak Load Time using batteries to supply the circuit during this period. Besides, if a failure on the mains occurs, the batteries can keep the system working as an emergency lighting system. The decrease in energy demand from the generation power plants and transmission lines, and the reliability improvement of the street lighting system justify these applications. Braga.for lighting presents benefits due to its long useful life added to its high luminous efficiency, high color rendering index and directional light emission. The proposed system supplies the LEDs from the mains or from battery using only one DC-DC converter (Buck-Boost). This converter is also used to charge the batteries from the mains after the Peak Load Time. The proposed system has high efficiency, high power factor, and complies with the IEC 61000-3-2 standard.
