An Optimal Cost Effectiveness Study on Zimbabwe Cholera Seasonal Data from 2008–2011

Abstract: Incidence of cholera outbreak is a serious issue in underdeveloped and developing countries. In Zimbabwe, after the massive outbreak in 2008–09, cholera cases and deaths are reported every year from some provinces. Substantial number of reported cholera cases in some provinces during and after the epidemic in 2008–09 indicates a plausible presence of seasonality in cholera incidence in those regions. We formulate a compartmental mathematical model with periodic slow-fast transmission rate to study such recurre… Show more

“…This was in part a reflection of the high number of studies on rotavirus. Other studies considered targeted introduction in outbreak settings [21][22][23] or among travelers. 20,[24][25][26] The studies varied in what benefits were included in the analysis.…”

“…The reproductive potential of this primary strain can now be measured by the reproduction number R 01 , called as the basic reproduction number with only primary strain-I is present. Following, 37,30 let us assume that F 1 t ð Þ and V 1 t ð Þ be the matrix of new infection and the transmission matrix, respectively, for the primary stain-I. F 1 t ð Þ and V 1 t ð Þ is given as follows:…”
