Abstract:This paper describes the use of an onionskin composite for the backing material of piezoceramic elements in a high frequency array. It is the purpose of this paper to compare certain advantages of using this particular composite over a more rigid type material. Measurements on experimental test arrays consisted of single stave patterns and receiving responses versus hydrostatic pressure. In order to show that a sonar array performance can be affected by the piezoceramic backing material, calculated array patte… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
