Number of vehicles increasing day by day in the world which results in traffic, air pollution, delay in reaching designation. Traffic density is increased in the roads, especially in the signals. The traffic congestion has negatively affected the efficiency, aggressiveness, and financial development of a nation. Thus, congestion control of traffic has become a significant zone of research, and a substantial number of answers for this issue left different research endeavors in the said field in recent decades. The traffic volume changing after some time, and in this way, long traffic lines are produced at the street intersections. Consequently, the Intelligent Transport System answers these related issues. It has incredible possible and ability to make transportation systems safe and smart efficiently. ITS provides the accessing and driving services of effortlessly participating transportation systems in a smart city. Traffic congestion can be managed in a proper manner by using time estimation and other route diversion in a pre-informed way. For this, we have to calculate the values of traffic congestion density and find the neighboring route. Density algorithm and distance measure algorithm were used to find the traffic density, and the Swarm algorithm was used to find the nearby path.

Currently, in Baghdad, vehicles driver still depends on the police of traffic to regulate the traffic system according to the density of traffic. There has been made a lot of researches on making the traffic signals automated by using image processing techniques, infra-Red Sensor, and laser sensors. The cost and complicity are the biggest challenge in these systems. So, to avoid the previously mentioned obstacles and with the employing of Machine to Machine M2M Communication, a system of traffic signaling that based ultrasonic sensor has been developed, where only one ultrasonic sensor is used at each road at 500 meters down the street away from the traffic light where there's obvious traffic congestion that needs to be solved. The ultra-sonic sensor would detect the density of traffic and communicate to Arduino that is responsible for acquiring signals from sensors on the roads which in turn will communicate with other Arduino which is responsible for manipulating the traffic light signals accordingly. So, as a result, the collected data will help the authorized person in monitoring the roads and change the green light time of each road based on traffic density in a specified date and time also take a report where the analysis will be made on heavy traffic and less traffic.

Traffic congestion problem persists more at junctions and causes inconvenience to public. Owing to this, people may not reach their destinations in time. Although there are alerts in mobile phones regarding arrival times of flight services and other journey related information due to sudden traffic jams at junctions these advanced technology innovations are being becoming fragile. Since long, many researchers have been putting their efforts to find remedies for reducing traffic congestion. Objectives: The key focus is on balancing forwarding time and waiting time at junctions based on the number of vehicles arrived at that junction. Methods: The proposed system uses Internet of Things (IoT) based monitoring to control signaling system. IR sensors are used to count number of vehicles passing over the lane by triggering clock for object detection. The signaling time can be changed dynamically based on the vehicle count, so that more time is allocated to the lanes which have more traffic and the remaining time is adjusted among other lanes. This reduces congestion at dense traffic lanes. Findings: There will be time variant setting of signal lights based on the density of the traffic. The dense traffic lanes will be allotted more time and will be cleared first. Expanding on this point, the time adjustment is done based on the vehicle count not on periodical fixation of intervals. Novelty: The ecosystem developed provides an ultimate solution to vehicle users for comfortable movement on the roads without being delayed.
