An Ionospheric Climate Index Based on GNSS

Abstract

Establish an ionospheric climate index (ICI) for representing the general state of the ionosphere based on Global Navigation Satellite System. • Quantitative determination of solar EUV irradiation, geomagnetic activity, and upper atmospheric wind field contribution to ICI. • Build a multiple linear regression model for reconstruction of ICI and extend historical data of ICI back 60 years.
