The current study aims at exploring the educational policy in Kuwait and its consideration of the rights of education, emphasizing justice and equality for all learners during times of crisis. It concentrates on the Covid-19 pandemic and the challenges faced by parents in private schools. The study adopts quantitative statistical methods and employs a questionnaire that involved 294 parents. The findings show that parents of private school students in Kuwait encountered several difficulties, during the time of the pandemic, which lead to unequal educational opportunities. Consequently, this study supports the development of the educational policies to address similar crises stressing the need for a comprehensive educational plan that ensures equitable support and supply of resources during emergencies. This is crucial for promoting educational equality in private and public institutions in Kuwait.

Recently, many studies have widely dealt with data mining and Text classification, including sentiment analysis. Sentiment analysis (SA) is an application of Natural Language Processing (NLP) implemented to understand the public’s attitudes. The recent proliferation of social media has helped gauge the public’s mood. The current study aims to explore the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Yemeni community and generate indices assessing public sentiments and attitudes using lexicon and rule-based approach (VAEDR: Valence Aware Dictionary and Sentiment Reasoner) and qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. 8,830 Facebook and YouTube comments were analyzed before and after the declaration of COVID-19 on 10th April 2020 in Yemen. The results revealed that sentiment polarity with and without contextual reference differed significantly. Without contextual reference, neutrality was prevalent and reached 55%; negativity scored 24% while positivity reached 21% before 10th April, but after this date, negativity was dominant and reached 57%, neutrality scored 28%, and positivity scored 15%. With contextual reference, positivity was prevalent and scored 72% before 10th April, but after this date, negativity dominated the public’s mood and reached 78.23%; positivity highly decreased to 18.65%, while neutrality scored 3.12%. The study demonstrated the superiority of SA based on the contextual reference of words.

This study actively examines the resilience of online learning in EFL (English as a foreign language) instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on adaptive strategies and resources in Saudi Universities. It shows a significant research gap in how these digital learning strategies have adapted post-pandemic to be sustainable. However, the chapter also provides a qualitative and quantitative analysis of strategies among 84 EFL teachers (81% male, 19% female) used to collect data on online learning experiences during the pandemic. Findings reveal significant increases in teachers' and students' digital skills, facilitating adaptation to online learning environments and continuing those practices. These positive outcomes offer hope and optimism for the future of online learning. It concludes by recommending that research be expanded to include different academic disciplines, including students in remote areas, and to explore new instructional methods and support strategies for asynchronous learning to meet the challenges of scheduling and Internet connectivity.
