This study aimed to examine the mediator role of self-compassion in the relationship between self-concept and communication skills of emerging adults, using a correlational research survey method to survey the impressions of 206 university students from various institutions across Turkey. The respondents were asked to fill out Social Comparison Scale, Self-Compassion Scale, and Communication Skills Scale to reveal that self-compassion partially mediated the relationship between self-concept and communication skills. Bootstrapping also showed that the indirect effect of self-concept on communication skills through self-compassion was significant. Individuals between adulthood and adolescence were found to perform the tasks expected of adolescence and ensure quality and satisfaction in life after graduation.The results revealed the connection between strong communication skills and positive self-concept and the fact that this connection can be addressed through self-compassion. Given that the most common reasons for university students to apply for psychological counseling concern problems around self-concept and communication/socialization, the inclusion of psycho-educational content in the concept of self-compassion in programs related to communication skills, using methods such as self-compassion awareness exercises can make a significant contribution in practice.

Achievement motivation, metacognitive awareness, and students’ attitudes related to problem-solving abilities are less sensitive due to the limited effect of civic education in higher education. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the above-mentioned variables in students. The correlational method is used to determine the relationship between variables with data obtained from 148 students from three universities in Indonesia. The instruments used were questionnaires and test descriptions. The data obtained were analysed using the multiple regression analysis. The results showed that problem-solving abilities had a positive relationship with the following aspects: achievement motivation, metacognitive awareness, students’ attitudes towards learning, and simultaneously, achievement motivation, metacognitive awareness and attitudes. This research confirms that civic education lecturers need to pay attention to achievement motivation, metacognitive awareness and attitudes of students related to learning strategies in improving the ability to solve problems. It is recommended that lecturers examine other variables that might affect the problem-solving ability, including collaborative learning models, and other models that demand student participation. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between four to five year old children's social competence levels and their ability to communicate with their mothers. Social competence has an important role in developing positive relationships in children's lives. One of the most important factors in the development of social competence in children is the communication they have with their mothers. In the study, one of the general survey models, "relational survey model" was used. The study group consisted of 323 children attending public kindergartens in Istanbul. General Information Form, Social Competence and Behavior Assessment Scale and Parent-Child Communication Assessment Tool were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics were calculated via examining the data distribution. In order to determine the relationships between preschool children's mothers' communication and social competence, Pearson correlation coefficient was calculated. At the end of the study, it was observed that children's social competence average was high, and the mean of inward and outward oriented problems were close and low. Besides, there was a negative and high-level correlation between total social competence scores and inward oriented and outward oriented problems. Considering mothers' communication with their children, there was a positive and high-level relationship between the empathy and speech dimensions.
